What is a Listing?

A real estate listing is a detailed description of a property that is for sale, including information such as the property’s location, size, features, and asking price. Listings are typically created by a real estate agent or broker who represents the seller to advertise the property to potential buyers.

Listings are often posted on various online platforms, such as the local multiple listing service (MLS), real estate agency websites, and social media.

Why is this term important?

Listings are important because they help buyers quickly and easily search for properties that match their specific needs and preferences. Homebuyers can also use listings to become familiar with what is available on the market, compare properties, and decide which are worth viewing in person.

Here is an example:

Listings typically include photographs and a virtual tour of the property, as well as information about the local area and nearby amenities. They may also include a floor plan and a list of features such as square footage, number of bedrooms, bathrooms, and parking spaces.
