Meet Aanand, an Investment Associate at Ourboro. Every day he uses his experience in private equity and impact-driven investing, along with a genuine passion for exploring real estate, to help make housing more accessible for Canadians.

How long have you been with Ourboro?

I’ve been here since August 2025.

What does your day-to-day look like?

It’s a good mix. A lot of my time goes into property valuations and making sure we’re making solid investment decisions. I also work directly with homeowners on requests, which keeps me connected to the human side of what we do. On top of that, I help with investor reporting and fundraising, which is exciting because it ties into Ourboro’s growth.

How did you get started in this field?

I started my career in Washington, D.C. with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s Investment Team, where I worked in a traditional LP role. After that, I spent time in private equity in the U.S., which gave me a strong foundation in finance and a chance to work across different industries.

What led you to Ourboro?

Housing affordability is such a huge issue, and I wanted to be part of finding creative solutions. Ourboro felt like the perfect place to explore private real estate investing while also contributing to something that really matters.

Where can we find you when you’re not working?

I’m usually outside, either out for a run or on a basketball court. Otherwise, you’ll probably find me browsing a bookstore looking for my next read.

What book or podcast are you into right now?

I’m really enjoying In the Shadow of Man by Jane Goodall. It’s her firsthand account of living with chimpanzees for over two decades.

What’s something people might be surprised to learn about you?

That I’m an artist! I love painting and drawing when I get inspired.

If you could invent something for the real estate market, what would it be?

Teleportation, so people wouldn’t have to spend two hours commuting to Toronto! On a real note, if you could teleport and live anywhere, wouldn’t there be megacities everywhere, even in Nunavut? A healthier real estate market where people are spread out across the country.

Where is your favourite place to spend time in the GTA?

Any park in downtown! Trinity Bellwoods or Riverdale are my favourites!
