When she’s not helping her clients break into the market, you can find Paulina hosting family gatherings, planning her next vacation or working at the coffee shop franchise she owns, Coffee Culture & Eatery.
We sat down with Paulina to find out a bit more about her, and how she’s utilized Ourboro for her clients.
Tell us a little bit about yourself and your mortgage background.
I started in the financial industry in 2006, right after graduating from university, with different positions in the banking industry. After leaving for maternity leave in 2017, I decided to purchase a franchise “Coffee Culture Cafe & Eatery” taking me away from finance for a short period.
In 2021, I decided to return to my roots, got my mortgage license and turned my main focus back to helping my clients with their financial needs.
Can you tell us about your journey to becoming an Ourboro Referral Partner?
My journey with Ourboro has been fantastic. I attended an Ourboro open house where I got to meet Nick Pope, the Co-Founder and Chief Investment Officer, and learn about the product. I was immediately intrigued. The team was super helpful and the process to become a Referral Partner was smooth.
What’s the biggest challenge you see facing buyers today?
In today’s market the biggest challenge I see buyers facing is qualifying with the current higher interest rate. For my clients, having Ourboro as an option helps to fill the gap between having a healthy income to support the purchase and not having enough of a down payment, increasing their chances of qualifying.
What’s the most common misconception people have about mortgages?
A common misconception is people believe they can’t afford a mortgage. My favourite part of the job is showing clients a mortgage isn’t out of reach and being able to tell them, “I have a lender for that.”
What’s your favourite GTA neighbourhood?
It’s not in the GTA, but I love Alliston.
If you only had three words to describe your approach with clients, what would they be?
Honest, approachable, empathetic.
Is there a piece of advice you often find yourself giving to your clients?
Always ask questions, and understand the product you are getting yourself into. As they say, “Date the interest rate, marry the house!”
